Valspan’s growing facilities are shaped by the unique advantages of our location and the exceptional microclimate that defines Southern France’s coastline.
A Location Built For Growing
Valspan is based in Saint‑Laurent‑d’Aigouze, a town close to south of France which is a one of the perfect environment suited to growing premium aromatic herbs. This region offers one of the most favourable microclimates in Europe, giving our crops the consistency and resilience required for year‑round production.
What Is A Micro Climate?
A microclimate is a naturally occurring combination of external factors such as stable temperatures, strong sunlight, coastal breezes and fast‑warming soil all creating optimal growing conditions. These advantages allow us to grow and harvest cut and jumble‑cut aromatic herbs with reliable quality.
Our Growing Footprint
Our facilities span 100 acres of outdoor fields and 12 acres under polytunnels, with a commitment to expanding our acreage year on year. This scale, combined with our climate advantages, ensures we can meet customer demands.
Innovative Water Management
While the microclimate supports healthy plant development, maintaining premium crop quality during peak summer requires precision irrigation. We use drip irrigation, delivering water directly to the root zone, a method particularly valuable in warm growing regions.
This targeted approach avoids overspray, runoff and unnecessary evaporation, resulting in:
